Bearfoot Canada
Bearfoot Canada is a Canadian Tourism Commission Product Club, established in 2002 by AOC in order to build unique and authentic Canadian cultural experiences through nature-based travel.

Over the next five years Bearfoot Canada will be working with tourism operators, communities and government establishing nature-based travel routes for the responsible traveller and creating a new Canadian Travel Product that can be promoted on the world stage as a truly authentic Canadian Travel Experience. Bearfoot Canada is seeking to apply a different approach to travel, linking technology and new travel trends within the new green economy.

Bearfoot Canada strives to protect the natural resources in the Okanagan and Shuswap watersheds. Our mission is to undertake environmental projection programs that link with nature-based travel that will leave a legacy of clean water, natural shorelines and sustainable land use for future generations.

We take care of the watershed by learning as much as possible about how it works. How do all of the natural resources pieces such as creeks, streams, forests, plants, water quantities, water quality, precipitation, animals, wetlands, lakes, shorelines and soils work together in our valley? As we know more about these interaction, we become better equipped to make wise environmental management decisions and to advise our member municipalities and partners.

All of our programs and projects could not get done without the continued support of our member businesses, municipalities and our amazing community partners.
