Bearfoot Clinics are learning programs that mix a healthy outdoor experience with learning skills including responsible travel and survival techniques. Our experienced guides will share with you key knowledge so that you may feel more comfortable traveling in the great outdoors.

Bearfoot Clinics take place throughout the year at various locations throughout the year and make a great daytrip destination or get-away weekend. We can also custom arrange a Bearfoot Clinic for your group, business or organization and can include transportation to and from your accommodation or meeting place.

Trail Riding with Single Track Temptations


TRAIL BIKE THE EDGE OF MYRA CANYON

Enter into a world of soaring Red-tailed Hawks as they bring together the worlds of rocky cliffs and clear blue sky. This bike tour that mixes the trail with single-track into Bellevue Trestle on the Kettle Valley Railway with a fun instructional tour that will give you helpful hints from the biking pros. This 5-hour Bearfoot Clinic provides explorers with vital outdoor skill, wilderness navigation and other healthy lifestyle activities including developing physical fitness and building up one’s self-confidence in the outdoors on a bike. ADVENTURE HORSE CAMPS

Our Summer Horse Camps are great adventures for both children and adults, for the novice or experienced riders. Adventure Okanagan offers several kinds of camps where people can learn, hands on, everything they could want to know about horses and their care. Lot’s of horseback riding, horse care, camp or stay in a comfortable lodge, family meals, crafts, movies, games, fun activities and great scenery with wildlife viewing.

We are not your traditional summer camp. At our camps you are involved within all aspects of a working backcountry guest ranch. There are trails and fences to be maintained and all sorts of chores. This is what ranch life is all about.

Our camps offer children a safe introduction to horseback riding and horse care. Our experienced teacherd also include lessons about humane treatment towards animals, and habitat, ecology and “horse sense”.

We have four different Childrens Horse Camps:
Ages 8-10 – 5 Days (Mon-Friday) - $299.00 per child
Ages 11-13 – 5 Days (Mon-Friday) - $299.00 per child
Adult Camps – 4 Days (Mon-Thursday) - $399.00 per adult

Adventure Okanagan also offers Horse Camp Pack Trips. Discover the ancient wisdom that connects the rider, horse and the trail. This deep connection to the Earth can be both inspiring and a great teambuildng experience.

There are three different Horse Camp Pack Trips packages available:

Adventure Okanagan Horse Camps are great solutions for a corporate retreat, group travel experience, conference adventure or family reunion. Contact us for customizing an Adventure Horse Camp for your group.

Horse Camps are available during specific dates throughout the year, or can be arranged for groups with their required dates. Upon receiving your online application and inquiry, Adventure Okanagan will provide you with a second Orientation and Risk Management Package with the details of the camp and what you will be doing. We will send you forms for parent’s signatures, medical records, and a waiver.

Participants will be supplied with bedding, towels, all meals and horses. All participants must bring boots/shoes with heels and a helmet. Everyone one will receive his or her CHA certificate. Camps will start Mondays at 9am and end Thursdays or Fridays at 3pm. Shuttle service can be provided at an extra charge from Vernon, Salmon Arm, Kelowna or Penticton.

Apart from its importance as a vital outdoor skill, wilderness navigation provides many spin-off benefits, such as facilitating a number of healthy lifestyle activities, developing physical fitness and building up one's self-confidence in the outdoors. This hands-on course is designed for those who want to learn about GeoSearch or hone their skills in using a map, compass and GPS (Global Positioning System.) The course will cover such topics as how to read and orient a map by terrain and compass, how to take, dial and follow a bearing, route planning and fixing your position. COUGAR CANYON EXPEDITION
This is a one-day rugged hike into Cougar Canyon departs from Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park. Cougar Canyon, carved out by glacier water of the Ice Age, is an environmental and geological gem. Here, we will need to use our GPS on this GeoSearch Adventure as we follow game trails along the canyon floor. This is one of the “must experience natural attractions” in the Okanagan. We will learn survival techniques, map-reading and use of a GPS to navigate through the canyon. You must be reasonably fit for this challenging and exhilarating learning experience. This 7-hour Bearfoot Clinic provides explorers with vital outdoor skill, wilderness navigation and other healthy lifestyle activities including developing physical fitness and building up one’s self-confidence in the outdoors.

The Art of Canoeing and Extreme Splashing


CANOEING: LAKEWATER LEVEL I (TANDEM)

During this full-day course, the fundamentals of canoeing with a partner will be taught in a safe and controlled environment. Water safety, canoe anatomy, rescues, trim and basic strokes will be covered in a fun and informative way. Successful candidates will receive their BC Recreational Canoeing Association Lakewater Level I certificate. No experience necessary.

Three days of exploring the edge of the Okanagan as this semi-arid rolling grassland valley turns to rainforests and mountains. It is here that we will find the Monashee “the mountains of peace”. We will make our way through rolling ranchland into cool forests before we explore Mable Lake and Echo Lake by canoe, enjoy a Salmon bake and stay overnight in a Tipi Village.
