Routes: As explorers our path will examine the bushwhacking routes of early Voyageur Fur Traders, Surveyors and Gold Seekers as we become part of the few that have viewed what is still known as the “undiscovered country” the Monashee, which is Gaelic for the Mountains of Peace, it is here where we will canoe an emerald lake surrounded by steep snowcapped mountains where glaciers provide the source of the Shuswap River. Our expedition departs from Vancouver and includes a historical reenactment at Fort Langley. Our guided fieldtrips will explore some of the world’s most spectacular geological formations as we visit Hells Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the wonder of the Cariboo Trail. We will follow the route of migrating Salmon as they make there way to spawning grounds in the Shuswap. This 10 day expedition includes quality guides, transportation, accommodation and camping and is all inclusive as we bike, walk and canoe. There’s great opportunities for wildlife viewing and natural history as we also trace the movement of the ancient Shuswap people as well as a close scientific examination of the mountain origins of the legendary Sasquatch.
