SOUTH OKANAGAN LAKE
WALKABOUT
This walking tour of the vineyards and
vistas of the South Okanagan will provide us with the very
best of the laid back lifestyle the valley has to offer. We
will explore the boutique shops and galleries of downtown
Penticton including the museum and the S.S Sicamous before
we embark on the winding country road leading to Naramata.
A small community bounded by lakeshore, clay bluffs, vineyards,
orchards and wilderness. Tree lined streets , artisan shops,
Museum , quaint Country stores and nature trails. There are
ten wineries located along the Naramata road.
With wineries such as Kettle Valley, Hillside,
Red Rooster, Elephant Island and Paradise Ranch we will have
great opportunity to sample fine vintage wines along with
a walk through vineyards with breathtaking views of Okanagan
Lake.
The South Okanagan is well-known for its diversity
of birds as well as many rarities found no where else in Canada.
Canyon Wrens, Rock Wrens and White-throated Swifts. Turkey
Vultures, Osprey, and Bald Eagles are often seen soaring above
the village while Manitou Park can be enjoyed for its many
songbirds and woodpeckers, including the rare Lewis' Woodpecker.
